Haflong, September 26: The traditional folk music, dance training cum workshop for 2013-14 organized by the Cultural Centre, Haflong, Cultural affair department which was started from the month of 1st March 2014 has been concluded today.
The closing ceremony function of the said program was held today at District Library Auditorium, Haflong where Mahendra Kemprai,EM for Cultral Department, N.C Hills Autonomus Council graced the programme as Chief Guest. Madhu Upadhaya , Chairman District Planning Board, NCHAC and Pauramduing Jeme ,Cultural Officer, Cultural Centre,Haflong along with hundred of participants who took part in said programe and also persons from different community/tribes were also present in the closing ceremony.
The training on traditional folk music, dance training cum workshop was participated by Dimasa, Zeme, Hmar, Kuki, Karbi and Jaintia Tribes of Dima Hasao District.
The participating cultural troupes’ also submitted a memorandum to EM for Cultural Affair, NCHAC citing different issues to improve the rich cultural heritage of the district.
Earler, the Cultural Centre, Haflong distributed grant-in-aid to 20 nos. of Non government organization (NGO) and Aid to 10 individual artist of Dima Hsaso.
