NCHAC Employees May Accept Payment of Salary

Haflong, September 28:  It is learnt from reliable sources that the Employees of N.C. Hills Autonomous Council Normal Sector may accept the payment of 7 (seven) months salary with 35% D.A., and ceasework agitation may also be withdrawn  but final decision will be taken on Monday ( 29 September) in a meeting.
The employees have been launching agitation  demanding  payment  of salary kept pending for nine months (now ten months) with enhencement of D.A. from 35% to 100%.

On September 22, the Principal Secretary (T) to the N.C.Hills Autonomous Council informed that he is ready to make payment to the employees’ salary before Puja celebration if the employees’ Union accept it. But the employees still did not contact him about their decision yet.
On enquiry, unofficial sources stated that the Employees’ Union remains firm in their demand of 100% D.A.  But the Executive Members at Haflong can not make any decision without the CEM Debojeet Thaosen, who is out of station. They, therefore, insists the employees to accept the payment @ 35% D.A. now, in a condition that their demand for 100% D.A.  will be decided when the CEM come. The PS(T) is waiting for the decision of the Employees’ Union, as per information.
The CEM arrived at Haflong and attended office on 25th September. Before CEM  went to office, the District Magistrate declared 144 Crpc and then, CEM entered office, as per report. But the CEM did not announced any enhancement of D.A. Hence, the Employees continued. Later, on 27th September 2014, it was learnt that cheque was signed for payment.
Earlier News : In a meeting held on September 9,  in the Union Office near the council entrance, the employees have resolved to continue their  agitation for an indefinite cease of work from 10th September demanding revocation of  transfer order of president of the NCHAC employees union and payment of 9 (Nine) month pending salary   with enhancement of DA from 35% to 100% immediately.
The union decided to allow the officers for any work related to payment of pending salary or other demands of the union and to form a committee for talks with council authorities as required to solve the grievances of employees.
The resolution of the meeting was also forwarded to the Principal Secretary (N) NC Hills Autonomous Council. Nearly 400 (Four Hundreds) employees were present in the meeting showing their resentment. Other hand the employees of normal sector appealed all section of people to understand and to  come forward to solve the their grievances’ while regretted for the inconveniences due to agitation programme. Some employees stated that they had hope the CEM and E.Ms would come to them and show their sympathy for the suffering employees. That the CEM,E.Ms would press the government for immediate help and also seek other resources. They were shock that the CEM,E.Ms still did not turn up and are reportedly busy in other matter instead of trying to solve the burning problem.
Earlier report : September 9: The two days sit in protest which was started from 8th September, staged by the N.C. Hills Autonomous Council Employees for the release of salary to the normal sector employees for the last nine month. The NCHAC normal sector employees have now intensified their protest and might   go for an indefinite cease of work, regardless of announcement made late evening yesterday to the NCHAC normal Sector employees through FLS by the EC of NCHAC to get back to work. Hundreds of employees were seen gathered in front of Council Office with slogan and displaying banner, placard and poster written about their  demand payment of pending salary to the normal sector employees and fulfilment of demands of the union. To be mention that the NCHAC employees earlier in the month of July’2014 also staged such ‘Dharna’ with Cease of work for many days.
