Haflong, September 10,2014 : Demanding immediate release of Mohet Hojai and others, who were incarcerated in connection with the then insurgency-related case of Dima Hasao district, the Hill State Democratic Party( HSDP) Dima Hasao Committee called 10 Hrs. Dima Hasao Bandh from 5.00 AM to 3.00 PM on 11-09-2014, stated the party Secretary Lalmason Singson in a press release today.
The party stated that whatever the
charges against Mr Mohet Hojai and others in the said case, it is an
injustice being meted out to the people of Dima Hasao district that Mr Hojai
and others were incarcerated for such a Long period of more than 5 years
in jail when even the main leaders of the then insurgency group in this context
and the leaders of different militant organizations in North Eastern States who
had been arrested on insurgency activities and various crimes committed,
were released on bail.
