More than five hundred strong supporters of BJP and general public took out the rally from its office premise carrying banner, play card with slogans Tarun Gogoi govt step down, we want development and dissolve council.
After few minutes hold and giving slogans in front of DC office, Hamjanan Langthasa, President, Detahng Naiding, Donphainon Thaosen, General Secretary ,Bonani Kemprai, Ex-President, Ibeichung Newme, Him Bh Chetri ,vice president of BJP ,Dima Hsaso District submitted a memorandum to J B Patnaik, Governor of Assam through the Deputy Commissioner and copies to Sorbananda Sonowal, Union Minister for youth affair and sports and to Kiran Rijjiju ,Union Minster for state home affair
The memorandum cited various issues like non payment of salaries to NCHAC normal sector employees for the last nine month and inability of present executive body of council not bothering to response the long standing demand for payment of salary nor stop the misuse the development funds and demanded instituting enquiry and urged to dissolve Council. It also emphasized on the bad state of the arterial road in the district particularly Jatinga-Haflong post office section which connects district head quarter with four lane corridor urging to take up the matter with Council and state authority. On NHAI authority for working extremely sluggish manner in Maha Sdak project from Lumding to Marowa in Cachar and urged for immediate attention by NHAI in the Haflong –Harangajo section ,mainly to make the existing road worthy for carrying traffic during the Mega-block.The other issues raised are environment, water pollution due to negligence of construction companies, supply of non potable water by the PHE and concern of the people of Dima Hasao on poaching of Rhinos in Assam and open selling of deer, hoar and endanger animals meat in the market of the Dima Hasao district.The memorandum also raised the issue of implementation of government scheme of both state sector and centrally sponsored scheme and to stop unethical practices and to follow guidelines while issuing work orders.
