Haflong,September 8: Demanding immediate payment of the their pending salary for more then 9 (nine) months, the Employees of the N.C. Hills Autonomous Council (Normal Sector) staged a two days sit in protest from today as part of their agitation, as proposed by the NCHAC Employees Union yesterday in a meeting held at Cultural Institute Hall ,Haflong.
The employees gathered in front of the Council from 10 am today, on 8th September, 2014, large in number, staging ‘Dharna’ upto 4 PM evening. Their demand includes, payment of salary to the normal sector employees for the last nine month, 100% DA and fulfillment of five point charter of demand of the union submitted earlier.
Mention may be made here that the NCHAC employees had earlier staged Dharna in the month of July’2014 and Cease of work for many days but latter on had withdrawn when the Executive Committee gave assurance for the payment of the last, the then, pending 7 (seven) months salary to the employees. However, they have not yet made the payment till date. This led the Employees staged the present dharna.
