September 11: The NCHAC Chief Executive Member
Debojeet Thaosen has conveyed that the current cease work NCHAC Employees’ Union
called from September 9, last would only delay the process of payment of their
salary to be made at the earliest possible time. This message was given to the local media
persons by the District Information & Public Relation Officer Ms. Purabi
Phonglo in a press meet at her official chamber today at 4PM.
The
press release, which the DIPRO issued, stated “Though the Council is in full
empathy with the existing issues relating to the non payment of salaries, regular
payment and demands of 100% increase of DA; the recent decision taken by the
employees union to agitate comes as an obstacle in the process undertaken by
the State Government and the Council for release of fund granted last.”
Assuring
the payment before Durga Puja, if the employees co operate, the release mentioned
that the Assam Government has earmarked Rs. 30 Crore which is to be paid as salary. However
the recent strike by the employees union has delayed the entire process leading
to payment of salary to employees before Durga puja. For the said delay and
further delay the authorities at Autonomous Council holds the employees union
solely responsible.
Further
CEM Thaosen has conveyed that in context to the payment of the salaries the
State Govt has already granted aid and it is already in process at Dispur. The
officials and all employees involved in the file works at Council and
Secretariat are well aware about it. Few Govt procedures cannot be ruled out
but it has been assured by the Chief Minister himself and also conveyed by
Chief Executive Member at several instances. So such cease work and non
co-operation from the employees will only further delay the process of (i)
pending salaries, (ii) 100% increase of DA and (iii) regular payment of salaries
that the Autonomous council has been trying to resolve all the while.
The
Haflong Times/ Haflong News add: From a reliable sources,
it is learnt that the Council has to submit the financial statements of last
year and Utilization Certificates, to the government, of the last grants-in-aid
received that the government may release the new grants.
