- Meeting on Disaster preparedness in Haflong by District Administration
Haflong, September 24:- The district administration of Dima Hasao called for an emergent meeting for preparedness and mitigation of life and property of public in the district which might follow due to uninterrupted rainfall for days here, reports DIPRO Ms Purobi Phonglo in an official press release today.
In the meeting,as per the report, Ramesh Thaosen, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) briefed various departments of their roles during the time of disaster. Discussion was made on various matters regarding how to co-ordinatee and cope as and when the situation arises. All the necessary arrangements such as sufficient food stock, medical and other necessities were taken into account by the ADC.
M Ahmed, the project officer, of the district disaster management authority explained on measures taken up by the authority and also gave out the contact number of the control room at DC’s office. For any crisis or any information he said the district emergency operation centre would be available at 03673-236324.
The meeting was largely attended by officers and representatives from various departments like information and public relations, town committee, agriculture, education, block development officers, home guard, SP office and others.
