Haflong,March 27::- A convention of ASHA workers was held on March 19 at cultural Institute Hall, Haflong. The programme was organised by Dima Hasao District Health Society under National Health Mission. Ramesh Thaosen, Principal Secretary, N.C.Hills Autonomous council attended the meeting as Chief Guest of the programme.
During the programme various schemes supported by ASHA workers were displayed through the projector to make awareness about their duties and their involvement in performing duties towards the people of Dima Hasao.
The ASHA workers reported their problem during their duty specially about communication problem like road and transport, telecommunication in Dima Hasao district and requested for better support from the government to make smooth services. The ASHA workers also requested to make rest room for them in Haflong Civil Hospital and other sub-centre. During the convention best performance award was distributed to 8 ASHA workers to encourage them.
The programme was also attended by Mukud Kemprai, P.S (N), NC Hills Autonomous Council, Haflong. T.T Daolagupu, Secretary,N.C hills Autonomous Council, Haflong, Dr.Dipali Barman,Joint Director,Medical and Health Service, Haflong, Rukmini Difoesa,DPM,NHM, Doctors, Nurses ,ANM and other staffs of Health service.
