Haflong,March 26:- A Marathon race was held at Haflong at 6.30 am.The race started from Lalfield,Haflong to Jatinga Village point and back to Lalfield.
The program was organised by Haflong Town Committee. Anil Daolagupu flagged off the Marathonrace.R.T Ardao,Miss DimaHasao represent the program as Brand Ambassador.
The main objective of the program was to make awareness about cleanliness and hygiene under Swach Bharat Mission.To keep Haflong Town and nearby areas clean, public awareness is very much necessary. Without acknowledging the bad impact of dirty environment, it would be impossible to prepare themselves to stay in clean and healthy environment and without the public consciousness about the cleanliness to reap the fruit of Swach Bharat Mission would be out of reach.This type of programs for public awareness could implement the thoughts of mass people,R.T. Ardao, Brand Ambassador opined. She also thanked to all the participants.
The program was also attended by people from all walks of life including boys, girls, official staffs from various government department, NGO’s, Self Help Group,Senior Citizen ,dignitaries and business community.
