Haflong,March24:- The opening ceremony of District Inter-School Tournament was held centrally at N.L. Daulagupu Sports complex, Haflong, was organised by Inspector of school, Dima Hasao in association with District Sports Officer, i/c -cum- Chairperson, District Inter- School Tournament-2017 which was graced by Kulendra Daulagupu Executive Member, i/c Education etc. N.C.Hills Autonomous Council, Haflong as Chief Guest.
After welcome address by Zagir Khan, Convener, of the Tournament Committee & Headmaster Dehangi High School felicitated Gamocha to the Chief guest and other dignitaries. The National Flag was also unfurled by the chief Guest of the programme.
Kulendra Daulagupu, the Chief Guest of the programme decaled the tournament open and started the game programmes
Kulendra Daulagupu and other dignitaries by viewing the large number of students players from 9 (Nine) zones of the District and by observing the uprising trend of sport lover students, felt happiness and viewed that the participation of the tournament in more valuable than winning games and without participating the game. It would be impossible to chalk out the talented ones by sport authority. All of the speakers encouraged the participants to play games with true spirit of games and asked all the players not to worry if they may not played to the mark and try to keep up their efforts to ache ire the goal. The ceremonial programme was also attended by teachers, parents, local sports lovers citizen, social worker among large number students.
In course of the programme Kulendra Daulagupu presented momentos to the Junior Girls Hockey term players and handed over a trophy to them for their achievement to place 3rd position in Assam at vetapara Guwahati.
