N.C.Hills Autonomous Council Celebrates its 66th Foundation Day at Haflong

Haflong, April 29: The 66th Foundation Day of N C Hills Autonomous Council was celebrated at District Library Auditorium, Haflong.
 The programme was organised by North Cachar Hills Autonomous Council, Haflong. Hon’ble MLA, Bir Bhadra Hagjer attended the programme as Chief Guest and Ranjit Hazarika, Deputy Commissioner, Dima Hasao district as Guest of honour of the programme. The programme includes the release of books written by Anful Naiding under the title “The Hidden Mystery of the Hajong Tortoise Lake” and “Jarni Iyaoblai Naiphin Laiala Sain” written by B.C. Langthasa a book on environment in poetic language MLA Bir Bhadra Hagjer and Debolal Gorlosa, CEM, NCHAC released the books. As a part of the programme honorarium were also distributed among the Gaon Burah of the district.

After welcome song presented by the local artists a welcome address was delivered by Samuel Changsan, EM, NCHAC, Haflong. In his speech he highlighted about the achievement made by the present ruling party under the leadership of Debolal Gorlosa, CEM. He also mentioned about the ongoing construction of Agriculture Research Centre, at Miyungkro, and setup of GNM Training Centre at Civil Hospital Haflong and Primary Health Centre at Khepre.
Ranjit Hazarika, Deputy Commissioner, Dima Hasao district Haflong express his delights for participation in the occasion. He also opine that such type of celebrations will surely improve co-operation among all the people and that will pave the way for peace and development.
Debolal Gorlosa, CEM as president of the programme, termed it an auspicious day. He made to know all that theis  Council  as one of the oldest council in India. He viewed that the development of Dima Hasao is remaining unchanged since 1952. No significant development was made in the past In comparison with other district of Assam. He also talked about the illegal induction of companies in Dima Hasao without any financial contributory legal bindings for the benefit of District Council Haflong and resulted into the present financial crisis even not able to pay salary for employees. He also informed to all that 90% of business men including labourers have no business license in the district. He also made public that proper development of the district could not made by the educated and aged previous Chief Executive Members, perhaps, they may not have the anxieties to develop the district in all respect . He also asserted in his speech that there is no right to travel foreign countries except the Prime Minister of India and some of Central Ministers as and when required. He again announced on the occasion that after making the district a developed one, among the developed districts of Assam, District Council Foundation Day will be celebrated in a grand manner as done by the previous Council ruling bodies.
Bir Bhadra Hagjer Local MLA, during his speech made aware about the reasons for insertion of Sixth Schedule Area within the Constitution of India while framing by B.R. Ambedkar in brief. He also stressed upon the need of clean environment in the district by taking necessary steps to protect themselves from water crisis to be faced by the people in near future. In this regard he requested to minimise Jhum cultivation and also the habit of migration to other places. Regarding the Law and Order situation as and when arises, the Mouzadars and Gaonburas have the power to solve the problems by using their courage with amiable manner. They also have the right to give guidances to the people within his or her jurisdiction to take up steps for restoration of healthy environment for the sake of their descendants in future. The programme was also attended by all the Executive Members, MACs, Ex. Executive Members & MACs of NCHAC, Principal Secretaries, Secretaries and Officials of District Administration, President & Secretaries of all Apex bodies, other dignitaries, Mouzadars, Gaonburahs, Senior citizens, NGOs, Social organisations among a large number of public attending from all corner of the district. The programme came to an end by the vote of thanks from Saindesh Ardao, Revenue Officer, NCHAC, Haflong.
