Haflong, September 3:- A two day Dima Hasao District Inter School Summer Tournament was organised by the office of the District Sports officer at N L Daulagupu Sports Complex on September 1 and 2 last.
The event was inaugurated by the Health and Family Welfare EM, NCHAC Nirmal Langthasa as chief guest. In his speech, EM Langthasa encouraged the participants and spoke about the importance of sports in education.
ADC Ramesh Thaosen also graced the programme as the guest of honour.
The two days programme included various games such as table tennis, badminton, kabaddi, swimming and also included competitions such like recitation, debate, quiz etc. Students from every corner of Dima Hasao participated with a high spirit and enthusiasm. This year the number of participants increased to an encouraging seven hundred numbers of boys and girls in total. seep-4

The tournament concluded with a closing ceremony held at Govt Boys’ Higher Secondary School with Deputy Chairman of NCHAC Tushar Kanti Deb as the Chief Guest. Dy Chairman said, “Physical activities make people healthy and increase people’s energy and therefore it is very vital for students to play and be involved in such activities.”
The ceremony was completed with the distribution of prizes to the winning teams and individuals of various activities held in the two days programme held simultaneously at different venue. Other guests present were DIPRO Dima Hasao, Inspector of Schools, principals, teachers of different schools, parents and students.
