The highest number of vote was received by Cong candidate Danial
Langthasa in Haflong with 4003 votes, while BJP candidate from Harangajao
Amendu Hojai won with the highest number of margin with 2454 votes and the
least number of margin was recorded from 8 Dauthuhaja constituency with only 1
vote
HAFLONG, Jan 23, 2019
: Polling to 28 numbers of constituencies for the 12th North Cachar Hills
Autonomous Council election was held and concluded peacefully on 19th January
2019.
The counting of votes was held on 22nd January
2019 at the temporary office in Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, Haflong on
23rd January. The result showed
Bharatiya Janata Party wining 19 seats out of 28 seats.
The Congress party
could win only 2 seats, while the Asom Gana Parishad secured one and the rest,
6 (Six) seats are won by independent candidates in the just concluded the 12th
North Cachar Hills Autonomous council election.
In the most
prestigious Constituency No. 1 - Haflong Constituency, Indian National
Congress candidate Daniel Langthasa defeated his
nearest rival BJP candidate
Jivraj Daulagupu by a margin of 820 votes. The former MP (RS) & former CEM Prakanta Warisa also
was defeated .
In 2 -Jatinga,
Independent candidate Flaming Rupsi Shylla defeated independent candidate Robert T Changsan by a
margin of 286 votes.
In 3- Borail BJP
candidate Ngulminlal Lienthang defeated
BJP candidate Suonkhomang Changsan by a margin of 245 votes.
In 4- Mahur , BJP
candidate Rahul Naiding defeated Congress candidate Joel Lamkhojon Sengyung by
a margin of 954 votes. Rahul secured
2986 votes while Joel polled 2032 votes.
In 5 -Jinam BJP
candidate Zosumthang Hmar defeated his rival independent candidate Lalrokhum
Zate by a margin of 581 votes.
In 6 -Hangrum
independent candidate Noah Daime defeated BJP candidate Kehungsamying Nriame by
a margin of 252 votes.
In 7 -Laisong, BJP
candidate Paudamming Nriame defeated his rival independent candidate Keseusang
Nriame by a margin of 1148 votes.
In 8- Dauthuhaja BJP
President Nipolal Hojai defeated his nearest rival INC President Nirmal
Langthasa by a margin of 328 votes.
In 9 -Maibang East BJP
candidate Smti. Nandita Gorlosa defeated
independent candidate Pirub Bodo by a margin of 1066 votes. Nandita is the second woman MAC in NCHAC after Ranu
Langthasa.
In 10-Maibang (West)
independent candidate Bijit Langthasa defeated BJP candidate Subrata Thaosen by
a margin of 1368 votes. Bijit secured 2499 votes, while Subrata got 1131 votes.
In 11 -Kalachand BJP
candidate Ratan Jarambusa defeated
independent candidate Monesh Phonglo by a margin of 1235 votes.
In 12- Wajao BJP
candidate Biswajit Daulagupu defeated
AGP candidate Raolish Kemprai by a margin of 1351 votes.
In 13- Hajadisa BJP
candidate Projith Hojai defeated
independent candidate Thaisodao Thaosen by a margin of 141 votes. Hojai secured 1003 votes while Thaosen secured 862 votes.
In 14 -Langting BJP
candidate Golonjo Thaosen defeated AGP
candidate Former CEM and AGP leader Debojeet Thaosen by a margin of 1041 votes.
In 15- Hatikhali,
Independent candidate Bimal Hojai defeated BJP candidate Kulendra Daulagupu by
a margin of 27 votes. Bimal got 766
votes, while Kulendra secured 739 votes.
In 16 -Diyungbra, BJP
candidate Nobojit Hojai defeated Congress Mayanon Kemprai by a margin of 1144
votes. Hojai got 2684 votes, while Kemprai secured 1540 votes.
In 17 -Garampani INC
candidate Joysing Durong defeated
independent candidate Dormen Enghi by a margin of 352 votes.
In 18-Khartong, BJP
candidate Lalremsiama Darnei defeated his rival
AGP candidate Lal Joshua Biate by a margin of 306 votes. Darnei got 1277 votes, while AGP candidate
Lal Joshua managed to get 971 votes.
In 19-Dehangi,BJP
candidate Debolal Gorlosa defeated his rival independent candidate Lokhyamoni
Langthasa by a margin of 2367 votes.
In 20- Gunjung, BJP
candidate Nojit Kemprai defeated AGP candidate Bijoyendra Sengyung by a margin
of 1156 vote. Nojit got 1568 votes,
while Sengyung secured 412 votes. Former
CEM and former MLA Samarjit Haflongbar NPP
get only 113 votes.
In 21- Hadingma, BJP
candidate Devojit Bathari defeated AGP
candidate Ajit Hojai by a margin of 1102 votes.
Bathari got 1437 votes, while Ajit get 335 votes.
In 22 -Dehamlai
independent candidate Ramgalungbe Jeme defeated his rival BJP candidate by a
margin of 132 votes.
In 23- Harangajao BJP
candidate Amendu Hojai has been recorded 3428 votes with highest number of
winning margin by 2454 votes defeating AGP candidate Muktangshu Hojai.
In 24- Hamri, Monjit
Naiding defeated Independent candidate
Mohendra Kemprai by a margin of 84 votes. Monjit got 797 votes while Kemprai secured 713 votes.
In 25 -Lower Khartong,
BJP candidate Ngamrothang Hmar defeated his rival AGP candidate Lalropui Hmar
by a margin of 21 votes. Ngamrothang secured 799 votes, while Lalropui got 778 votes. Congress candidate
Lalthangzuol Joute is in the third by securing 314 votes.
In 26 -Dolong
constituency, Independent candidate Suanthangjem Hrangkhol defeated his nearest
rival another independent candidate H. Ramhuolsang Hrangkhol by a margin of 7
votes. Suanthangjem got 361 votes while
H. Ramhuolsang got 354 votes. BJP’s
Lalhmingthang Hrangkhol secured 84 votes while Congress candidate John Phoitong polled only 229 votes.
In 27- Diger MAC
constituency, BJP candidate Hen Samuel Changsan defeated his rival congress
candidate by a margin of 84 votes. Samuel
got 579 votes, while Satminthang Khongsai secured 495 votes.
In 28 -Semkhor BJP
candidate Smti. Ranu Langthasa retained her seat by defeating his nearest rival
AGP candidate by a margin of 196 votes. Ranu got 645 votes while Proshanta
Phonglo get 449 votes.
The CEM Debolal
Gorlosa, told media that the Council
will be formed within first week of February after consulting the Assam
Governor. He also said that maximum winning independent candidates are indirect
supporters of BJP. He also added that the winning independent candidates will
be intake as per the decision of the BJP Assam Pradesh.
